HELEN EDWARDS EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER COMPACT
It is our belief that student performance will improve as a result of
our cooperative efforts to support this compact. This is a three-way
partnership with a specific goal in mind. It is imperative that each
person assumes his or her responsibilities.
PARENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Spend time each day with my child reading, writing, listening or just
talking.
Keep pencils, paper, crayons and scissors available.
Check child’s folder daily, review papers and sign and return all
papers that require a signature.
Encourage positive attitudes toward school.
Bring child to school on time everyday.
Attend parent-teacher conferences.
Respect, love and encourage my child’s growth and ideas.
Help my child to resolve conflicts in positive, non-violent ways.
STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Bring signed folder to school.
Follow school rules.
Be at school everyday on time.
Work hard to do my best in class and finish my homework.
Tell my parents what I am learning in school.
Have a positive attitude toward self, others, school and learning.
Work to resolve conflicts in positive, nonviolent ways.
Listen and follow directions of adults.
TEACHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Give corrective feedback.
Check that homework has been completed and discipline folder has been
signed.
Keep parents informed of academic progress or concerns through
parent-teacher conferences.
Maintain and foster high standards of academic achievement, positive
behavior and high expectations for students, other staff and myself.
Respect the cultural differences of students, their families and other
staff.
Help children to resolve conflicts in positive, nonviolent ways.
